A personal resource from Jonathan
Live a life
worth living.
The money is just the means. I help people build a steadier, more honest relationship with it — so it stops being the loudest voice in the room, and starts quietly funding the people you love, the work that matters, the life you'd choose on purpose.
Why this exists
It was never really about the money.
Most money stress isn't a maths problem — it's a relationship problem. Nobody taught us how to think about money, so we picked up whatever was lying around: anxiety from one parent, avoidance from another, score-keeping from the world outside. And a strained relationship with money doesn't stay in the spreadsheet; it leaks into marriages, careers, sleep, and how present we are with the people in front of us.
Everything here works on that relationship. Understanding replaces fear — that's what the seasons and the library are for. Intention replaces drift — every page ends with what the numbers mean for your life, not just your wallet. And when you want someone to carry the heavy lifting with you, that's where I come in — so money can take its proper place: quietly in the background, funding what you'd actually choose.
Where you are
The Freedom Gauge
There's one measure underneath everything here, and it isn't your salary. It's how many months of your own life your money covers — because the same $50,000 is two years of freedom to one person and three months to another.
That number decides more than people expect. Below a month, fear does the thinking. Past six, your values get a vote again. The gauge names the five zones, and — more usefully — tells you what to work on in yours, so you can ignore the rest of this site until it's your turn.
Measured in months of your own expenses — not dollars owned.
The seasons
And what life is doing
The gauge says how much room you have. It doesn't know about the wedding, the flat, the newborn or the ageing parents — that's this axis. Each season has guidance written for that moment, the checklists of what to handle while the window is open, and a tool to take with you.

Two more doors
Learn is the timeless half — how investing actually works, thirteen honest head-to-heads, how hospital plans and the advice industry really operate, the calculators, the glossary. None of it is required reading; it's here for the moment you want to understand something properly.
Right now is the opposite: the pages for the week something goes wrong. A retrenchment, a hospital admission, a falling market, a policy you're unsure about, a scam call to your mother. Written in calm weather, so the version of you having a hard week doesn't have to work it out from scratch.
And underneath both, a quieter set of ideas about what the money is actually for — congruence, ikigai, how the world's forces work, and stewardship: holding it all with an open hand rather than a tight fist. That's the posture this whole site is written from.
Money is a tool. The point is the life.
The job of money is to let you exhale — to give you the clarity and confidence to live well, and to love the people around you. Everything here is in service of that: understanding, so you can be intentional; intention, so your money quietly serves the life you actually want.
